However, a bitter dispute over money with her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock has seen the beloved star lift the lid on the toxicity that allegedly existed in their marriage.

And somehow it’s seen Rihanna‘s name roped into the melee.

The singer and talk show host made headlines in November when a judge ruled that her ex-hubby would have to pay back almost $2.7 million for unlawfully brokering deals as her manager that should’ve been handled by a talent agent.

Now, The New York Post is unpacking details of what Clarkson is said to have testified in court.

With the songbird having eyed a role as a judge on ‘The Voice’ for many years, court documents obtained by the publication say she relayed to Blackstock her interest in onboarding the hit NBC show.

Upon doing so, however, she is reported as saying that he shot back that execs are “looking for a more sex symbol type” like Rihanna.

When quizzed by her lawyer about how she could recall the remarks with such specificity, Clarkson replied:

 “Well, a wife doesn’t forget a time she gets told she’s not a sex symbol, so that stays.”

Interestingly, Blackstock would go on to negotiate lucrative deals for Clarkson on ‘The Voice,’ as well as ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ Norwegian Cruise Line, Wayfair, and the Billboard Music Awards. Taking fees in return.
