One year before being charged with rape in a shocking $50 million lawsuit, Shannon Sharpe allegedly strangled a female production assistant at Fox Sports.

According to two individuals who spoke to Front Office Sports on Thursday, the NFL icon was accused of physically abusing the worker while he co-hosted the “Undisputed” talk program from 2016 until 2023.

One source claims that Sharpe and Fox reached a settlement of several hundred thousand dollars with the complainant. Regarding the claimed occurrence, no lawsuit was filed.

In response to the site, a spokesman for the 56-year-old ESPN presenter refuted the accusations.

According to his spokesperson, “There was no incident of choking involving Shannon on the FS1 set,” “On one occasion, he and a few colleagues were involved in some light physical interaction in a playful context. Fox Sports later chose to resolve the matter privately.”

The claims surfaced following Sharpe’s alleged rape and violence in a Nevada lawsuit filed on Sunday. A woman, only known as Jane Doe, claimed by Page Six, the sports broadcaster, had sexually assaulted her several times between late 2024 and early 2025.

Doe, who is purportedly in her early 20s, stated that she and Sharpe had a “rocky” relationship for many years after meeting in 2023 at a gym in Los Angeles.
