Patrick Mahomes of the Chiefs Explains His New Hairdo

Patrick Mahomes looks a lot different and is ready for a new challenge. The Chiefs will look very different when they hit the practice fields this summer for training camp. Additionally, it won’t only come from collegiate athletes and free agents chosen in the NFL Draft.

Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback, will have a different hairstyle than Chiefs supporters are used to. Mahomes’ hair will be cropped more like a crew cut rather than his trademark mohawk fade.

What caused the change? The quarterback said: “I’ve wanted to do it for a while but it was kind of one of those superstitions, I kept winning the Super Bowl which is a good thing but I didn’t want to cut the hair while I was doing it. I told everybody during the season that win or lose, if we win three in a row or if we lose, I’m getting a haircut like that’s enough. I’m very excited. I’ve looked at some videos from last year and I can’t believe all you guys let me keep that nappy hair for so long, like I look way better now with the short hair, so I’ll be keeping this going forward.”

With his wife Brittany and his four-year-old daughter Sterling, two-year-old boy Bronze, and three-month-old infant daughter Golden, Mahomes has been taking advantage of some rest during the NFL off-season. The pair was seen sitting courtside during the Dallas Mavericks vs. Lakers game on April 10.
