As one of her generation’s premier performers, calls for P!nk to bring her over 2 decades worth of hits to the Vegas Strip have been loud and plentiful.
And although she is currently rocking stadiums across the globe on her nearly yearlong ‘Summer Carnival’ stadium tour (currently slated to wrap mid-Spring 2024), the GRAMMY winner made it clear in a recent chat with ‘LA Times’ that she has Sin City in her sights.
Details inside.
The Pop diva’s interview with resident ‘Times’ contributor Mikael Wood may be mostly garnering headlines for her dissing her hilarious 2009 ‘We’ve Got Scurvy‘ bit on popular children’s program ‘SpongeBob Squarepants,’ but a standout portion of the chat definitely came courtesy of her discussion about Las Vegas.
Having watched her peers like Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, and on-and-off-again rival Christina Aguilera work the Strip for megabucks, P!nk (born Alecia Moore) hasn’t shied away from the idea of joining the ranks.
“When I do Vegas, it’ll be the best show Vegas ever saw,” she said in response to quizzing about an extended engagement in the entertainment capital.
And while she didn’t give any details or tentative plans about venturing to The Silver State, she did explain what’s kept her away.
“My kids are still young enough to join me on the road. Vegas is something I can do when they don’t want to be with me anymore. [My daughter] Willow’s getting close,” she revealed.
At 44-years-young, however, Moore has plenty of time to flex her vocal chops in Sin City – especially citing Tina Turner as career and performance inspiration.
“I went to see her when she was 69 years old, and she was running around in Christian Louboutins, dancing her a** off. Then she takes an intermission and I got to go back and sit in her dressing room and talk with her. She was such a magical person — just otherworldly,” she said about the late Rock Queen.
