Olivier Rioux, a 7’9” Center for Florida, Goes Viral for Outlandish Stunt

Since the Florida Gators have won the national championship, their 7’9″ rookie center Olivier Rioux had the opportunity to do his well-known net-cutting stunt one final time.

Rioux cut the net with his feet on the ground for every step of Florida’s championship run, negating the need for the ladder next to him. He did this after Florida advanced to the Final Four in San Antonio and again after they won the SEC championship. The third time was the charm on Monday night as the Gators won the national championship after defeating the Houston Cougars 65-63 in a thrilling game.

Rioux had another opportunity to draw attention during the postgame festivities:

As a senior in high school, the Canadian big man, who attended IMG Academy, was ranked 61st among centers on 247Sports. Although he hasn’t made his collegiate debut yet, his on-court play will undoubtedly draw attention. His net-cutting extravaganza will suffice in the meanwhile.
