Now, I don’t know about you, but that takes some serious courage. Imagine competing in a high-stakes gymnastics meet when you’re not fully fit. But Olivia is willing to push through the pain and support her teammates to victory.
Dunne, 22, saw her season come to a heartbreaking end last week when the social media sensation emotionally announced that she had fractured her kneecap.
The devastating injury saw Dunne miss the final home meet of her Tigers career. However, the gymnast, sporting a knee brace, was present for the Senior Night ceremonies in Baton Rouge last Friday.
Dunne has become one of the biggest names in college sports in recent years and returned for a fifth of eligibility at LSU in the Fall, which she was granted due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
After being ruled out for the rest of the season, it remains to be seen what she will do next. But for now she’s being a loyal teammate, joining LSU on their road trip.
So let’s all send some positive vibes to Olivia and her LSU teammates as they take on Auburn. They’re proving that no injury can hold them back, and that’s something to be admired. Go get them, Tigers!
