The full anticipated cost of repairing a graffiti painting of Kobe Bryant and Gigi in downtown Los Angeles has been covered by Luka Dončić.
The new guard for the Los Angeles Lakers donated $5,000 on Tuesday to meet the full objective of a GoFundMe page started by artist Louie Palsino. His goal is to restore the artwork at 14th and Main streets called “Mambas Forever.”
Following practice at the Lakers’ training facility, Dončić stated: “It was always important to give back to the community,”
“They gave me so much, so I just want to give back.”
Less than three months ago, the Lakers acquired the Slovenian superstar from the Dallas Mavericks in a historic trade.
He and LeBron James helped the Lakers win the Pacific Division and earn the third seed in the Western Conference playoffs, but with a 3-1 series lead and a Game 5 visit from the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday, Los Angeles faces elimination.
After playing for the Lakers for 20 years, Bryant became the team’s all-time top scorer and won five titles. Hundreds of murals and public art installations honoring Kobe and Gigi Bryant appeared throughout Southern California following their deaths in a helicopter crash in January 2020.
