Lou Williams, the former star of the Los Angeles Clippers, responds to the egregious foul committed by Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green.
In an attempt to escape the play-in tournament and a possible first-round meeting with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Golden State Warriors are one of six Western Conference clubs vying for a postseason berth. After a game against the Houston Rockets on Sunday night, their chances of earning a top-six seed became much more difficult.
The Rockets defeated Golden State 106-96 in a game that was dominated by three points from Steph Curry. Numerous significant incidents occurred during the game, including Draymond Green’s egregious foul against Alperen Sengun and Curry’s encounter with Rockets head coach Ime Udoka.
Lou Williams opens up about Draymond Green’s controversial foul
Lou Williams, a former star of the Los Angeles Clippers, talked about the foul and his thoughts on the contentious call. Williams revealed: “This one right here looks like a basketball play to me,”. “But you know, referees are human, they look at who it is, what type of play it is, and your reputation comes into play. Then, they make calls based on it. I don’t know if he’s seeking Sengun out right here…It’s Draymond Green, so everything that he does is gonna be considered with a grain of salt.”

Green’s reputation as a player who has committed numerous technical and egregious fouls during his career was undoubtedly hurting him in this particular instance. This time, Green is being defended for a call that didn’t go his way, even though he typically makes headlines for being a dirty player.
