Sixers during their terrible 3–13 start to the season has left everyone from fans to pundits confused.  Philadelphia hasn’t just gotten off to a stutter. The team that was hailed as having a championship-caliber squad has plummeted to the NBA’s second-worst record. Joel Embiid has only participated in four of those games due to suspension or knee injury treatment.

Following two frightening-looking hyperextensions of his left knee, George has only participated in eight games. Tyrese Maxey, an All-Star guard, has been sidelined for six games due to a hamstring injury.

The NBA schedule makers assigned the Sixers games against the teams they’ve made seismic, league-altering trades with over the last four years, starting with an ugly 113-98 victory at home against the Brooklyn Nets, one of the original, now-fallen sons of “The Process,” on Friday. This just goes to show how much karmic debris the team has already had to deal with this season.

Following losing to James Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers 125-99 on Sunday, they will play the Houston Rockets at home on Wednesday. The Rockets are winning following their wise reconstruction using the players and draft assets they obtained in the initial Harden deal.

How crucial is Joel Embiid to 76ers ?

When questioned about his willingness to play, 2023 NBA MVP Joel Embiid has already answered this season by saying, “I’ve done way too much for this f—ing city to be treated like this.” A few days later, the NBA punished Embiid for pushing a writer who had written a critical piece about Embiid’s late brother and kid.

After Maxey criticized Embiid for being “late to everything,” during a team meeting, Embiid and George criticized the person who leaked the information to ESPN. Most concerning of all, Maxey pleaded to “play with some pride” following Sunday’s defeat.

According to insiders, Embiid and the team both believed his problematic knee would be well enough to begin the season. The Sixers would post that he was still out, but they hoped he would return soon.

After taking a break after the Summer Olympics, it initially appeared that he just needed more time to get back into form. Embiid’s knee condition became evident to everyone who saw him throughout the preseason.

His typical 3-point stance burst was delayed, and he attacked the hoop passively when he made his debut on November 12 against the New York Knicks. In 26 minutes, he made 2 of 11 shots and scored 13 points.
