It has not been an easy journey for Bronny James in the NBA. The talented guard, who had four strong seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, was relegated back to the G League in the most recent chapter of his personal story. He received some words of encouragement from his father, LeBron James, after the brief hiccup.

Bronny joined the NBA this season after the Lakers selected him in the second round of the draft. Following a contentious debut, the team chose to assign him to South Bay, its development league affiliate. James’ career has been a roller coaster between the NBA and the G League ever since, and it doesn’t appear to be coming to a stop anytime soon.

Bronny spent nearly half of his NBA career—35 minutes in four games—during his most recent tenure with the Lakers. His next performance in the G League, which won him accolades from “King” James, shows that even though his numbers are still low, the experience has been essential.

Bronny scored 28 points, pulled down six rebounds, and had a magnificent poster dunk on Friday in his comeback to the South Bay Lakers. LeBron is extremely proud of his performance, which was crucial to his team’s 122-104 victory over the Valley Suns.

In one of his Instagram stories, LeBron wrote: “Keep building & stacking days,”

The “King” included an image of Bronny against Valley along with a “young king” emoji. LeBron is steadfast in his support of his succession. The Lakers star explained Bronny’s unbreakable habit last month, saying:  “He goes to work, he goes home, he takes care of his body, he plays his video games, he reads a little bit, and then he comes back and does the same thing.”

The Lakers rediscovered a winning streak after a rocky start to the season, winning four games in a row and 10 of their past 12 games. Despite the fact that the regular season is yet halfway done, this moved them up to fifth position in the Western Conference, which appears to be encouraging for the club.

Fans and the media are hoping to see Bronny play with the senior team again against the Indiana Pacers following his brief return to the minor league.
