On the latest round of “Mind The Game,” LeBron James waxed poetic about Doncic’s style of play. Even if the Los Angeles Lakers have seen some ups and downs since reorganizing their roster during the NBA trade deadline, it is already evident that LeBron James and Luka Doncic will get along well.
As with any Doncic-led team, there are defensive concerns, but offensively, the superstar combo has already made significant strides in learning how to work together.
It may seem absurd to have ever wondered whether two players with the exceptional combined basketball IQ of Doncic and James would get along, but anything can happen when it comes to such significant adjustments.
LeBron James talks about his excitement at playing with Luka Doncic
As part of the redesigned Mind The Game podcast, which will debut its inaugural episode on April 1, James discussed his new collaboration with Steve Nash. When Nash asked James in a preview what he was most looking forward to about playing with Doncic, the superstar gave a detailed, mildly offensive response.
Some guys just breathe confidence. Luka has that.
Episode 1 drops TOMORROW, 9am ET.

James stated: “I’ve always loved the players that breathe so much confidence into his teammates that make them believe that they’re actually better than what the f— they really are,”
“You (Nash) did that, Luka has done that for seven years, Chris Paul did that when he was down there in New Orleans and doing that for that team down in New Orleans.
“I’ve been able to do that for a few of my teams. I don’t go to the NBA Finals in 2006 with that team if I’m not able to make them believe that they’re greater than what they are and just give them that confidence… Luka has that. And he learned that from growing up in Slovenia, heading over to Madrid, learning the game the right way and playing at a professional level at 13, 14 years old. He brought that same model, that same game to the NBA from Day 1.”
As usual, listening to James demonstrate his extensive basketball knowledge in responses such as these is intriguing. Not a really shocking response, but very fascinating content.
