Glitz, glamor, and gargantuan success are often seen as being followed by financial rewards.

However, as has long been relayed about the business of music, artists don’t always repeat the monetary benefits – even after releasing smash hits (see: “that” iconic breakdown by Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes).

The latest to illuminate this reality is Fifth Harmony alum Lauren Jauregui.

During her tenure with the Pop ensemble, the songbird’s success soared to seismic heights off the back of Billboard hits such a ‘Work From Home’ and ‘Worth It.’

And while one might assume that buckets of bucks would be the end result, Jauregui has revealed otherwise.

Currently on the press trail for her new EP ‘In Between,’ the 26-year-old stopped by the Zach Sang Show on Amp Radio and was quizzed about the financial benefits (or lack thereof) attached to her time in 5H.

Speaking candidly, she told host Sang:

“I mean…it’s not gonna pay my rent.

Of course (the songs are making someone else a lot of money). They’re hit songs. And you know what, the songwriters, the producers, they all make money off it too. They got to eat too. It is what it is. I’m not attached to making a fortune off what we created. Because that’s not what it was for me. It wasn’t what it was while I was in it and it’s not what it is right now.”
