Stephen Curry, the two-time NBA MVP, suffered a pelvic injury during Thursday night’s 117-114 victory over the Toronto Raptors, raising questions about his playing status.

Late in the third quarter, Curry was back on the field after missing Tuesday’s game to rest after being injured while driving for a layup. Before being helped to his feet and led to the locker room, he fell hard on his tailbone and lay on the ground for a few seconds.

“Curry tried to talk his way back into the game, but it was decided to keep him out,” stated Warriors coach Steve Kerr. Kerr further added:

“He thought he might be able to come back,”. “We just decided not to risk anything. Hopefully it’s not bad.”

How long would Stephen Cury be out?

The Warriors won’t know the full degree of Curry’s injury until they have the findings of the MRI. The whole franchise is holding its breath until then.

Curry, a two-time NBA scoring champion and 11-time All-Star, has scored in double digits in 57 of his 59 games this season. He averaged a team-high 24.3 points going into the game against Toronto, and he scored 17 points against the Raptors before getting hurt. Draymond Green, a teammate, stated: “He hit that ground hard, you could hear it,”

“It’s crazy. Obviously a scary moment for us, and for him. Hopefully, he’s good.”

The Warriors won’t play again until Saturday when they begin a six-game road trip in Atlanta. Curry and Rick Celebrini, Golden State’s Director of Sports Medicine and Performance, will decide whether Curry is available for the game against the Hawks, Kerr said. Kerr stated:

“Rick makes all those decisions based on his evaluation,” “At this point it’s all speculation.”
