Iggy Azalea fans (affectionately called #Azaleans) who were holding out hope that the GRAMMY-nominated rapstress will be returning to the music scene any time soon got dealt a crushing update recently.

Although she left her supporters jaw-dropped after announcing her retirement from music in 2022, Azalea returned a year later with new songs and word of a new album produced by the serially embattled Rap star Tory Lanez.

Due to the commercial nonperformance of those cuts, however, Iggy kicked off 2024 by revealing the incomplete project had been shelved to allow more time to work on business ventures like OnlyFans, beauty products, an adult toy line, and investing (to name a few).

Related to the latter topic, the 34-year-old was recently featured in technology and business magazine ‘Fast Company’ where she dished on her pivot into cryptocurrency with the publication’s former editor-in-chief Bob Safian.

“I don’t dare to say I’m an expert [about crypto]…but I think I’m quite knowledgeable,” she said before detailing her meme coin $MOTHER.

When quizzed about her journey from making music to investing, Azalea detailed how the former had become “creatively limiting.”

“I didn’t renew my record contract. I don’t have an active record contract or publishing contract. I have sold all of my masters. I’m free of any responsibility,” she shared before relaying her excitement about crypto. “I just feel excited to get up in the day and pursue these [new] ideas.”
