In response to a confrontation with Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo after the Pacers’ series-clinching victory on Tuesday, a representative informed ESPN’s Shams Charania that John Haliburton will not be attending the team’s home and away games “for the foreseeable future.”
It’s unclear exactly when John Haliburton will be able to return to the sidelines, according to Dustin Dopirak of the Indianapolis Star. His postseason status has not been discussed, but he might be barred from the arena for the remainder of the playoffs.

In a news conference held after the game, Antetokounmpo discussed the altercation, stating that he first believed John Haliburton to be a fan until discovering it was Tyrese’s father. He said:
“Having somebody’s dad — and I’m happy for him and I’m happy for his son, that’s how he’s supposed to feel — but coming to me and disrespecting me and cursing at me is totally unacceptable,”
Tyrese Haliburton also discussed the issue after the game, stating that he didn’t agree with his father’s decisions and that he would eventually speak with Antetokounmpo about it. According to Tyrese Haliburton: “I don’t think my pops was in the right at all there,”
John Haliburton later expressed regret for his actions.
