Fresh from the potent first season of ‘Paradise’ (which was renewed for another season), Emmy winner Sterling K. Brown takes on a new role in Hulu’s upcoming limited series, ‘Washington Black.’
Full story below…
Set in the 19th century, the show follows George Washington “Wash” Black, a young boy who escapes a brutal sugar plantation in Barbados and embarks on an extraordinary global adventure. Told across two timelines, ‘Washington Black’ captures both his early escape and later life as a free man navigating love, legacy, and the lingering dangers of the past.
Ernest Kingsley Jr. plays the older Wash, with Eddie Karanja as his younger self.
Brown stars as Medwin Harris, a self-made leader in Black Halifax who becomes Wash’s protector and mentor. Tom Ellis joins the cast as Titch Wilde, a steampunk inventor whose bond with Wash changes both of their lives.
The ensemble cast also includes Iola Evans, Edward Bluemel, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Billy Boyd, Charles Dance, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Shaunette Renée Wilson, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, and Rupert Graves.
