In a recent interview with YBF correspondent James Terrell, the couple opened up about the importance of leaning on their famous couple friends, Magic and Cookie Johnson, and Samuel L. Jackson and LaTonya Richardson Jackson, during tough times. "The Jacksons and The Johnsons are like our North Star couples… We have learned so much from them. Samuel and Tanya, Ervin and Cookie, are just amazing people and have taught us a lot about what you go through in relationships," Holly shared. "And we’ve been married for 30 years so we’ve learned a lot on our own, but it’s great to have friends that you hang out with that can tell you, ‘Wait until you’ve been married for 40 years. This is what’s going to happen.’” The couple is grateful to have friends who have been through similar experiences and can offer a fresh perspective when needed. "They've been through similar situations, and you find out how they dealt with that,” Rodney shared. "All those little things that you deal with and being married after 20 years, after 30 years, what’s that like. How to keep that fire going.” But it's not just their celebrity friends that keep Rodney and Holly's marriage strong. The couple also has their own set of rules, including the "20-second hug" rule.
