ESPN’s “College GameDay” has revealed that Lee Corso‘s last appearance will take place in Columbus, Ohio, where they will report on the matchup between the Texas Longhorns and the Ohio State Buckeyes in Week 1.

Corso will host one final show to conclude an impressive 37-year journey with GameDay. It remains uncertain if ESPN will introduce a new analyst post-2026, but the distinctive charm of Lee Corso, who dons a mascot head each week, cannot be replaced.

During Lee Corso’s era, Georgia made 40 appearances on College GameDay, achieving a balanced record of 20-20. The Bulldogs hosted the show 10 times.

In 2024, College GameDay decided to cover a Georgia game on four occasions, including three during the regular season and once for the SEC championship. Corso selected Georgia’s opponents for the first two instances (Alabama in Week 5 and Texas in Week 8).

However, in Week 12, Corso predicted Georgia would win at home against Tennessee, wearing the Uga mascot head. In Lee Corso’s final appearance in Athens, Georgia, the Bulldogs dominated Tennessee, securing a 31-17 victory.

Athens stands a good chance of hosting GameDay several times this year, with Georgia scheduled to host Texas, Alabama, and Ole Miss, all of which could potentially attract college football’s beloved pregame show.
