Dwyane Wade Is Anticipating Donovan Mitchell’s Development Into a Star

Like many others, Wade had higher expectations for the Cavaliers, who were led by standout player Donovan Mitchell. Additionally, there wasn’t much to be unhappy about in terms of overall performance. On his podcast, Wade noted that Cleveland had Coach of the Year Kenny Atkinson and Defensive Player of the Year Evan Mobley.

The former Heat star spoke the following about Mitchell: “That was disappointing, and it wasn’t about the injuries for me, it was about getting into the fight, the competition.”

Nevertheless, Wade had a grievance to voice. He agreed that Cleveland’s core is young and has a promising future. He still believes, though, that they ought to have done more throughout this stretch.

“The one game where Donovan came out, in game three, where he had 43? Donovan got into the fight that night. And his team got into the fight with him. After that, I didn’t really see the fight in the Cavs…”

Wade believes Spida needs to accomplish more in order to eventually take home an NBA ring.
