When questioned about allegations that he is deliberately focusing on Stephen Curry‘s injured thumb, the Rockets guard was candid. By defeating the Golden State Warriors 131-116 in Game 5 on Wednesday, the Houston Rockets avoided elimination and lived to fight another day. The young Rockets have a long way to go as the series now shifts to the Bay Area, where the Dubs lead 3-2.
Dillon Brooks, meanwhile, has been involved in some controversy once more. Fans believed that during a scenario in Game 4 while Brooks was contesting a shot in the defeat, he was obviously attempting to strike Steph Curry’s injured thumb.
In Game 5, the Warriors’ broadcast went one step farther and claimed that Curry’s thumb was being purposefully targeted by the Rockets.

Dillon Brooks opens up on Stephen Curry’s injured thumb
When Warriors coach Steve Kerr was shown the aforementioned video, he said that nothing should be done because, according to current NBA regulations, that kind of contact is permitted. Ime Udoka, the head coach of the Rockets, was also questioned about the matter but chose not to respond. But when faced with those accusations, Brooks responded bluntly.
Brooks stated: “I’ve been playing the game,”. “If I had an injured ankle, I would attack that ankle every single time. So whatever they’re saying on the broadcast, they can keep saying it.”

In Game 5, a Warriors bench player was disqualified for headbutting Alperen Sengun, rekindling the animosity between the two teams. That fire is unlikely to be extinguished by Brooks’ remarks.
