What retirement?

Two years after Keyshia Cole sent shockwaves across her fan base with the announcement her next studio album, the follow-up to 2017’s ‘11:11 Reset,’ would be her last, the GRAMMY nominee has confirmed the new project is baking.

Taking to the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles as headliner of K. Michelle, Jaheim, and Trey Songz-assisted ‘Love Hard Tour’ on Saturday (March 30), a tearful Cole confirmed her new project is in the works.

Not only will the effort be her first in nearly 7 years, it will also mark her first body of work since the passing of her biological mother Frankie Lons (who she plans to dedicate the album to).

“Album eight right now on the way,” she told concertgoers (as seen in the video above). “I wanna give a shout out to my mom Frankie. If you watched the reality show, if you watched her: I just wanna say thank you. You helped change my life. Thank you.”

At the time of this report Cole has not teased a tentative release date.

Elsewhere during that eventful night, Cole was joined on-stage by rapper/longtime nemesis O.T. Genasis.

Beyond previously grabbing headlines for claiming the R&B diva “smelled like fish sticks,” fans of both artists know they were at war over her signature hit ‘Love‘ (which he reportedly sampled without permission).

The ‘Cut It’ emcee didn’t take long to cut to the chase and issue a public apology over the snafu.

“We was kinda going at it at one point, and listen, it was me,” Genasis started (as seen in the video above). “I just want to sit here today, I want to tell you I apologize to you…I want to tell you I’m sorry. And when I met this woman, she is the sweetest, one of the greatest personalities, the greatest sense of humor, she’s really sent from God. She got a very, very, very good soul.”
