CeCe Winans is Now the Third Most GRAMMY-Awarded Black Woman in History

As the most-awarded Gospel vocalist in GRAMMY history, Cece Winans is no stranger to being printed in the ceremony’s record books.

However, thanks to wins at the 2025 iteration of the award show on Sunday night (February 2), the Gospel royal has extended her already impressive resume of wins at the event.

Though she landed 3 nods at the 2025 show, Winans emerged the victor in the Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song and Best Gospel Album categories during the ceremony’s pre-show telecast.

The wins pushed her career count up to 17 – lifting her past secular hitmakers Adele and Alicia Keys on the all-time list among women.

At writing, only Beyonce (33) and Aretha Franklin (18) have more.
