According to The Hollywood Reporter, ‘Cowboy Carter’ has formally been submitted for nomination consideration in the Best Country Album category.
The submission is notable on a number of fronts.
For, it comes seven years after the Academy’s Country committee opted not to shortlist the Country-anchored ‘Daddy Lessons’ from Queen Bey’s critically acclaimed 2016 LP ‘Lemonade’
News of the categorization comes a mere matter of weeks after Beyonce was snubbed at the CMA Awards, where she received zero nominations for ‘Cowboy Carter’ and its historic chart-topping lead single ‘Texas Hold ‘Em.’
At last week’s People’s Choice Country Awards, the project was passed up in the 17 categories it was nominated in.
Should Beyonce nab Country nominations at the GRAMMYs 2025, she will add to an already impressive run at Music’s Biggest Night.
Serving as the ceremony’s most-awarded artist of all time, the 43-year-old has the esteemed honor of being nominated across multiple genres. Indeed, at the 2017 show alone, the megastar made history with ‘Lemonade’ as the first artist to garner nods in the Rock, Rap, R&B, and Pop fields in the same year.
Voting to determine the nominees for the GRAMMYs 2025 is ongoing and concludes on October 15.
Thereafter, nominations will be officially announced on November 8, 2024, with final voting taking place from December 12, 2024 through to January 3, 2025.
The live GRAMMYs 2025 ceremony will air on February 2, 2025 from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
