3 Players Are Ejected as the Cowboys and Eagles Fight

The enmity of a division rivalry was evident even with backups playing as the Philadelphia Eagles crushed the Dallas Cowboys 41-7 on Sunday to capture the NFC East.

Eagles safety Sydney Brown and two Dallas Cowboys, wideout Jalen Brooks and cornerback Troy Pride Jr., were sent off for fighting during the fourth quarter. With fewer than three minutes left, the three of them were tangled and knocked an official to the ground as the fight began as they sprinted down the field on an Eagles punt. Pride shoved Brown as the two stood up, and Brooks seemed to yank the Brown to the ground.

As additional players arrived to break up the fighting parties, Brown threw Pride into the adjacent tunnel, starting a bigger conflict. Safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson was given two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties during last week’s loss against the Washington Commanders, the second of which resulted in an automatic disqualification.

This was the second consecutive week that a member of the Eagles’ defense has been removed. As Brown was led off the field in the “calm down” celebration that the Eagles have been doing lately, the crowd cheered him on.
