BET UK is inviting the masses to the chapel ‘Our Big Day.’

The three-part series spotlights three soon-to-be-married couples on their journey to curate the ultimate Black wedding to remember.

A true toast to Black love, the series chronicles the must-have ingredient required to facilitate an unforgettable experience.

Fusing fun and culture, the show celebrates African and Caribbean wedding traditions and the Black British influence too.

Executive Producer Vanessa Van-Yeboah says:

“Our Big Day is a groundbreaking new series giving a window to the world on contemporary Black Britain. The uniqueness and diversity of British blackness is explored as we uncover what it means to hold dual identities here in the UK and that of our ‘back home’ cultural heritage. A wedding is the perfect time to honour both. It was my intention to build and nurture a team that reflected the cast for the contributors to feel seen and express their truth in an environment that felt safe. By assembling a crew of diverse industry professionals and creatives, the result was the contributors authentically gave themselves to the filming experience and Our Big Day showcases a young, proud, Black Britain on camera, and behind the scenes.”

Commissioning Editor for BET UK Shurwin Beckford added:

“I was really excited to commission an observational documentary series that celebrates the current trends in Black British weddings. Black weddings are nuanced affairs, often lavish and elaborate but also steeped in heritage and age-old customs but done in ways which feel 100% contemporary. This series is full of black love, whilst also revealing so much about the Black British experience.”
