And now, over 30 years after the ‘Foreign Affair’ smash kissed its Hot 100 top 20 peak, it’s puckered up for a top 10 premiere on another major Billboard chart.

As the entertainment industry continues to reel after May 24 news of Turner’s death, fans and admirers alike are turning to the diva’s biggest hits to remember her.  In fact, classic tunes like ‘We Don’t Need Another Hero,’ ‘Proud Mary,’ ‘Better Be Good To Me,’ and more were sent to the top of real-time digital music sales tallies just hours after the news broke.

The spike in download activity last week catapulted Tina’s timeless hits ‘The Best’ and ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’ to #7 and #8 respectively on the refreshed edition of Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart – besting the likes of modern-day female hitmakers Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, SZA, and others in the process.

Beyond being the only solo female listed in the tally’s topmost ranking, the placements uniquely come as a first for Tina as most of her career predated the digital era.  While she did get to #2 on the hitlist in 2020 with the Kygo-led remix of ‘What’s Love Got to Do with It,’ this week marked the first time she appeared in the hitlist’s top 10 by her lonesome.

Although the handsome sales weren’t enough to push ‘What’s Love’ or ‘Best’ back onto the Hot 100 this week, their increased radio airplay and streams over the last week make them contenders for next week.
