Taylor Swift has just scored a major legal victory in her battle of lyrics from her hit song ‘Shake It Off.’

Swift and songwriters Nathan Butler and Sean Hall have asked that a judge to “[dimiss] this action in its entirety,” according to Variety.

The trail over the song was supposed to begin next month, however, it appears that will no longer happen.

The terms of the settlement are currently unclear, however, the songwriting credits remain unchanged as of reporting.

Previously, the two songwriters alleged that Swift stole lyrics from the 3LW song ‘Playas Gon’ Play,’ which they helped to write.

Swift’s legal team argued that the song used terminology that appeared in everyday language and that the phrase “playas gon’ play” was part of the popular vernacular before Sean Hall and Nathan Butler wrote the song.

Prior to heading to trail next month, the case had been set aside by a federal judge in 2018 before being reinstated by an appeals court the following year.

Swift’s reps have no commented on the matter as of reporting.
