Chiefs’ star Samaje Perine has come forward to defend his teammate, Patrick Mahomes, amidst the controversy surrounding a viral clip. Despite the widespread speculation that Mahomes had snubbed Perine’s handshake after the Super Bowl LIX defeat, the running back claims that the incident was blown out of proportion.

The 29-year-ols responded to a clip of the video and wrote: ‘Lol I actually stood up to untie my pants string, no one blamed anybody. It’s not that deep.’
During the game itself, Perine had only one carry for eight yards but was an important member of the team during the road to the Super Bowl.
In fairness to Perine, the clip did need addressing. It look very awkward.
‘Patrick Mahomes completely ignored Samaje Perine,’ one critic wrote on X. ‘What a loser.’
One responder slammed Mahomes for ‘very poor leadership,’ while another opted for a pun: ‘Not cool Mahomie.’
According to Samaje Perine, it was just blown way out of proportion and there’s no bad blood between him and Patrick Mahomes. It seems like these guys are just brushing off the whole situation, proving that sometimes the internet can blow things way out of proportion. So, there you have it folks – the supposed snub was never serious, and it’s all good in the Chiefs’ kingdom.
