Stephen Curry Wins Against the Pistons Despite Thumb Injury

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Detroit Pistons 107-104 to snap a two-game losing run. Stephen Curry wasn’t playing at his best during the game because he had a sprained thumb. The Warriors star did, however, state that he would prefer to win than have a game with a lot of points.

According to Steph, he had another blow on his thumb during tonight’s second quarter after it had been “whacked” four games prior. Despite having trouble shooting, he managed to play 36 minutes and finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists.

He stated: “I’ll be fine. Played through it, made some missed shots, it’s one of those annoying things.” “I’ve had nights where you grab an efficient 30 or hot 20s…I’d rather have nights like tonight for sure,”

Stephen Curry’s performance despite a thumb injury

Steph’s sprained thumb had a significant impact on his shooting, as evidenced by his 5 of 21 field goals and 2 of 14 long-range attempts. Even so, Steph would rather have a win on a low-scoring night than anything else.

He is aware, nevertheless, that he must lead his team to victory and that he cannot always depend on other players to do it. The 36-year-old said that his squad would have an easier path to victory if he could add a few more points to the total.

The four-time NBA champion expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance and their ability to maintain control of the game the entire time. He gave Dennis Schroder and Buddy Hield kudos for taking the team’s burden when they needed to win that night.

Hield finished with three assists, five rebounds, a steal, and 19 points. He made 7 out of 15 field goals. In addition, Trayce Jackson-Davis had an outstanding performance, contributing 14 points while shooting over 77% from the field (7/9). Steph’s expression showed the positive effects of this victory. Following the Warriors’ defeat against the Miami Heat in their most recent game, he was feeling down.

The Pacers, Raptors, and Timberwolves are the next three opponents the Warriors will face on their away tour.
