Speculation About the Raiders NFL Draft Sparked by Shedeur Sanders’ Instagram Post Featuring Geno Smith

Even though the Las Vegas Raiders acquired quarterback Geno Smith from the Seattle Seahawks last week in exchange for a third-round pick, the team is still interested in the position. The franchise now has the No. 6 choice in the 2019 NFL draft, which some have suggested they may eventually use on a quarterback, and Smith is 34 years old.

Shedeur Sanders was the one who furthered the aforementioned rumors on Sunday afternoon. One of the best quarterback prospects in this year’s class, the former Colorado signal caller shared a picture of himself with, you guessed it, Geno Smith on his Instagram story.

“Legendary,” Sanders wrote over the picture. Going further down the rabbit hole, Sanders has a long-standing relationship with Raiders minority owner Tom Brady, who had significant influence over the team’s decisions this summer. In addition to having previously trained together, Sanders inked a NIL contract with Brady’s business, TB12, in 2022.

We’ll have to wait and see whether they end up matching Sanders with Smith, who is said to be working on an extension but only has one year left on his contract. We know that in the NFL, when there is smoke, there is frequently fire, even though this is just conjecture at this time.
