Smokey Robinson is firing back at claims he sexually assaulted four former housekeepers.

The Motown legend, who is 85, stands accused of assaulting a quartet of workers over 20 years. Corners of the accusations include claims that he raped the women and penetrated some of the ladies without protection.

Uniquely, the group included Frances Robinson, the star’s wife of 23 years, in the suit. They say, even though she did not carry out the acts, her alleged knowledge of prior wrongs allowed for what they were allegedly subject to. It’s also claimed that she ruled the house with an iron fist and allegedly used racist language to degrade them.

After a brief but telling clap back from the performer, Robinson’s attorney has hit back.

Christopher Frost, Robinson’s lawyer, said in a statement.

“Through this process we have seen the bizarre theatrics of yesterday’s news conference, as the plaintiffs’ attorneys outlined vile, false allegations against Mr. and Mrs. Robinson, trying to enlist the public as an unwitting participant in the media circus they are trying to create.”

Continuing, Frost added:

“We ask anyone following this case to reserve judgment as the evidence comes to light and all the actual facts of the case unfold.”
