Peruse of the updated Billboard 200 reveals Doja Cat‘s GRAMMY-nominated tertiary album, 2021’s ‘PLANET HER,’ is the week’s best commercially-performing female Rap album as it’s still orbiting in the chart’s topmost quadrant (#47 this week).
Its ongoing success across Billboard comes as the result of rocking radio with as well as steady streams and digital downloads of its slew of smashes including the Hot 100 top 10 hits ‘Woman,’ ‘Kiss Me More,’ ‘Get Into It (Yuh),’ and more.
That enduring presence on charts is also the reason the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) recently took to press to share news several of her most beloved titles had received certification upgrades.
Look inside for details.
On Thursday (November 17), the RIAA announced 14 entries from Cat’s discography had clawed their way to a new certification threshold.

The updates push Doja’s collective digital sales to 42 million in the U.S., making her one of the best-selling acts of the era. In fact, when all female acts are considered, Doja ranks 10th on the all-time digital sales list behind Rihanna (155.5 million), Taylor Swift (137.5 million), Beyonce (114 million), Katy Perry (109.5 million), Lady Gaga (80.5 million), Ariana Grande (63.5 million), Cardi B (54 million), Mariah Carey (52.5 million), and Carrie Underwood (48 million).
Among key callouts from the brigade of Cat’s new certifications are ‘Say So,’ her inaugural Hot 100 #1 hit, extending its reign as her highest-certified single to date as well as the 2x Platinum standing of two of her studio albums, ‘Hot Pink’ and ‘Planet Her.’
Thanks to their refreshed statuses they make Cat the second female rapper in history to see at least 2 studio efforts reach such a certification standard. Before her, Nicki Minaj – the all-time leader among females (with 3 multiPlatinum sets) – was the first when her 2014 LP ‘The Pinkprint’ left its print on a double Platinum plaque in early 2016 and joined her previously 3x Platinum-certified 2010 effort ‘Pink Friday.’ Minaj’s 2012 release, ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded,’ was also elevated to 2x Platinum in 2016.
It’s worth noting that Missy Elliott kicked off the year by entering RIAA history books as the first and only female rapper to own 6 Platinum-certified albums. However, at time reported, her only multiPlatinum body of work is 2002’s ‘Under Construction.’
