P!nk Slams Critics of Rihanna’s Super Bowl Show, Says She “Not Interested” In Ever Headlining Her Own

Although big names like former U.S. president Donald Trump, WWE legend Goldberg, and radio shock jock Howard Stern count themselves among those jeering Rihanna for her gravity-defying Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday (February 12), the Bajan diva earned her fair share of praise from celebrities like Chris Brown, Christina Aguilera, Shaquille O’Neal, SZA, Jordin Sparks, and many others who jetted to social media to laud the 13-minute musical showcase.

Among the latter is P!nk, who has not only garnered applause in the past for her own Super Bowl showing but has also been approached by organizers to headline a halftime show.

Hot on the promo trail for her latest album, ‘Trustfall,’ the GRAMMY-winning diva took to our friends at Audacy Music to dish on the project, fall tour plans, and so much more before being quizzed on if she’ll ever bring her live show talents to the Super Bowl stage.

Look inside for her surprising answer.

After discussing her legendary career-at-large, the 43-year-old diva (born Alecia Moore) was asked if there were any ‘bucket list items’ she would like to accomplish before retirement – including headlining a Super Bowl halftime show.

“I never say never about anything, but the reasons I’m not interested in certain things are 1 – the political reasons,” she told interviewer Mike Adams at the video’s 9:15 mark before sharing, “I don’t need to do [the Super Bowl halftime show]; I did the national anthem [already].”

As it relates to the negative criticism Rihanna received for her Super Bowl extravaganza, Moore challenged detractors to do better.

“The girl is pregnant, she’s a mom, she’s awesome, [and] she worked hard; you don’t have to love the show but give her props for what she did,” she started. “I loved it, personally, I thought it was amazing. You do it. You get up there and do it. I want to see you hang on a platform that looks wildly unsteady.”

When quizzed about a hypothetical setlist, however, P!nk concluded her halftime show talk by saying her 2002 hit ‘Don’t Let Me Get Me’ is the one song she would refuse to perform if she changed her mind about accepting the gig.

“I don’t think anyone wants to hear it anyway,” she joked.
