Olympian Gabby Thomas is killing it not only in sports but also in the modeling world! After her amazing debut in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, she has opened up for more exciting modeling gigs.
We all know Gabby as a fierce competitor on the track, breaking records left and right. But now, she is showing off her versatility and beauty in front of the camera as well. And let me tell you, she’s slaying it!
Gabby’s appearance in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue has garnered tons of attention and praise. Her confidence and poise are shining through every shot, making her a true role model for aspiring models and athletes alike.
When asked if fans will be able to see her on any future modeling appearances, Thomas cheekily replied, “I think so!”
“I’m open to a lot of more opportunities like that, and there there might be a few things coming out soon, so we’ll see!” Thomas told us at the Footwear News Achievement Awards on Wednesday at Cipriani South Street in New York York City.
Thomas, 27, appeared alongside other amazing athletes, including Olympic gymnast Suni Lee, golfer Nelly Korda and skier Eileen Gu in the upcoming issue, which hits newsstands early next year.
“That was definitely a new experience for me [and] different from running on the track [and] stepping into a little bit of modeling” she said with a giggle.
She concluded, “I had a lot of fun branching out.”
The track and field athlete skyrocketed to fame in August when she took home a whopping three gold medals in the 200m sprint, 4 x 100m relay and 4 x 400m relay at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
“The last six months have truly been a whirlwind,” she told us. “I feel like I’ve been nonstop, but it’s also been such a blessing, and I’m so grateful for all the opportunities that I’ve had and the awards, and it just feels really validating with all the hard work that I put in.”
The editor-in-chief MJ Day explained in a press release that they wanted feature the “remarkable group” of athletes, because they embody the “next generation of all-stars poised to transform the world of sports.”
“They defy stereotypes and champion equality, inspiring young girls to envision themselves as both athletes and leaders,” Day added. “At SI Swimsuit, we’ve always celebrated the future of women, and there’s no better way to honor these remarkable achievements than by featuring them on the pages of our issue.”
It’s incredible to see Gabby spreading her wings and embracing new opportunities. She has proven time and time again that she can excel in any field she puts her mind to. Whether it’s breaking records on the track or delivering stunning poses in front of the camera, she is a force to be reckoned with.
So, get ready to see more of Gabby Thomas in the modeling world. She’s about to conquer yet another industry, and we couldn’t be more excited to see where her journey takes her next. Keep shining, Gabby!
