Monica Praises Brandy & Erica Campbell’s Daughters’ ‘Wicked’ Cover of ‘The Boy Is Mine’: “This Is BEYOND Incredible”

The already feverish excitement for the big screen adaptation of ‘Wicked‘ only seems to be growing ahead of the Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo-led film’s flight into theaters on Friday (November 22).

Just ask Sy’Rai Smith and Krista Campbell – daughters of GRAMMY-winning divas Brandy and Erica Campbell respectively.

Donning costumes akin to the movie’s main characters Elphaba and Glinda “the Good Witch” in a suprise music video drop, the young duo gave 90’s music lovers a better-than-good updated take on the history-making 1998 Brandy and Monica duet ‘The Boy Is Mine.’

As Smith (expectedly) took on the legendary lines of her mom, Krista breathed new life into Mo’s verse with her soaring rendition.

As praise rang out across the Web for the wicked remake, one stamp of approval rang out above the rest: Monica’s.

Taking to Instagram stories on Wednesday (November 20), Mo clearly gave the cover a glowing review.

“This is beyond incredible,” she said while tagging the stars.
