According to Billboard, Megan has signed a fresh deal with Warner Music Group.

The flavor of the distribution pact will see the Houston native remain independent while benefitting from the services of a select global team.

In a rapidly evolving music climate, such deals have become popular amongst select artists who have a solid, installed fanbase and media profile and thus are better positioned to strike such partnerships with labels.

Put simply, the artists can retain an air of independence while the labels are (in theory) assured a worthwhile return on investment.

Upon announcing her independence during an Instagram Live in October, Meg gushed:

“I’m so excited to be doing something for the first time independent since it was just me and my mama.”

Since setting sail sans 1501, the rapper released the confessional anthem ‘Cobra’ – which earned critical acclaim in earnest.

We’re excited about Megan’s next chapter. Are you?
