Mark Cuban Takes a U-Turn on Kamala Harris

Once a vocal supporter of Vice President Kamala Harris, billionaire investor and Shark Tank star Mark Cuban has suddenly distanced himself from his endorsement, including removing pro-Harris remarks from his social media accounts.

On election night, Cuban, who had enthusiastically backed Harris at first, took to X (previously Twitter) to admit defeat and congratulate President-elect Donald Trump and tech tycoon Elon Musk, one of Trump’s most powerful supporters.

As battleground states continued to turn red, Cuban was among the first prominent Democrats to publicly admit Harris’s defeat, so the concession statement, which was uploaded at 1:30 a.m. on election night, took many by surprise.

Donald Trump was recently involved in a failed assasination attemp

With Trump leading in battleground states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Arizona that would eventually turn red, Harris’s chances of winning were fast dwindling at that point.

Mark Cuban was the first to acknowledge his loss

“Well done, @realDonaldTrump.” Cuban wrote, “Congratulations to @ElonMusk too. ” This compromise represented a growing unease with the businessman’s political commitments. His decision to take down his pro-Harris remarks, however, caused internet outcry as people questioned his sincerity and intentions.

As an explanation for his behavior, Cuban said, “I’ve always gone back and removed tweets… years. The election in 2020 will be comparable. 2016 election. Likewise with other items. For those who are interested in his earlier posts, he said, websites exist that archive his deleted tweets.

Cuban, a former Trump supporter, has had a complicated political path. He endorsed Trump in 2016 but later “grew out of it,” citing his incapacity to have productive discussions with the former president.

Given that Cuban’s political reset has put him at odds with his prior stances, some are wondering where he will end up next. Cuban received some surprising acclaim for his early recognition of Trump’s triumph despite the reaction, with supporters of the former president praising his “mature response” and polite concession.
