The death of American Idol star Mandisa shocked fans and her peers alike when it was announced in April.

Now, the cause of her tragic passing has been revealed.

Citing an obtained copy of the coroner’s report, TMZ confirmed that the 47-year-old died from “complications of class III obesity.”

She reportedly weighed 488 pounds at the time of her death.

Sadly, the vocalist’s friends found her in a state of decomposition on April 18.

However, further reports – including toxicology assessments – confirm that no other variables were involved nor were any abnormalities tallied.
