Karmelo Anthony‘s saga has been quite controversial and it doesn’t look like stopping. A few minutes after the police resolved the situation, Dominique Alexander, president of Next Generation Action Network, kicked off the news conference by criticizing Jeff Metcalf for showing up without an invitation. It was “inappropriate,” he said, and “a disrespect to the dignity of his son.”

Alexander continued by criticizing the media for disseminating untrue information about the Anthonys following their son’s detention, seemingly focusing on the family’s GiveSendGo funds, which he insisted no one could access until Wednesday.

Then, Karmelo’s mother, Kayla Hayes, spoke to reporters and made an impassioned plea for the abuse and threats she and her family had been subjected to to cease.

In the end, Alexander made it clear that this would be their final news conference before Karmelo’s trial started.

The victim’s father turns up at Karmelo Anthony’s press conference to cause a delay

Karmelo Anthony’s family was scheduled to speak at a press conference on the teen’s murder charge, but they had to halt the proceedings when the father of the child Anthony allegedly killed unexpectedly came up.

The dramatic scene occurred just minutes ago at Next Generation Action Network’s Dallas headquarters when Jeff Metcalf, Austin Metcalf’s father, unexpectedly showed up among the media minutes before the Anthonys were scheduled to speak.

According to reports, Jeff was ordered to leave by NGAN authorities, who are assisting Karmelo’s legal team in his criminal case, since they did not want the Metcalfs and Anthonys in the same room.

Journalists on the scene, however, claim that Jeff first declined. After that, NGAN phoned Dallas Police to have him taken out.
