Janelle Monae‘s long-awaited fourth studio album, ‘The Age of Pleasure,’ has been the listening pleasure of her diehard fans since it landed on digital shelves at the top of June.

Opening at #17 on the Billboard 200, the project fared even better on the Top R&B Albums chart – peaking at #2 and marking the third top 5 hit of her career on the rhythmic chart in the process.

The wins attached to ‘Pleasure’ aren’t limited to the album chart, however, as review of R&B singles chart is seeing that success mirrored.

Among the favorites on the set’s 14-song tracklist is ‘Lipstick Lover‘ – its official second single. Produced by Nate “Rocket” Wonder, the risque track dropped May 11 and was quickly lauded for its sensual content.

Apparently resonating with R&B lovers, ‘Lipstick Lover’ has zoomed to the top of the current Adult R&B Airplay chart. For context, Adult R&B Airplay is a radio chart that solely measures the airplay of songs played on Urban Adult Contemporary radio stations.

The feat marks the second time Monae’s visited this tally’s peak following the 2018 reign of the ‘Dirty Computer‘ song ‘I Like That.‘

‘Lipstick’ and ‘Like’ are expected to be two of the many gems the 37-year-old is expected to perform on the forthcoming ‘Age of Pleasure Tour.’
