Shots fired! Janelle Monae wasn’t afraid to let Nelly know how she felt about him performing at President Donald Trump‘s inauguration ball.

The ‘Tightrope’ singer called out Nelly at a Grammys afterparty while performing over his hit ‘Hot In Herre’.

She rapped:

“F*ck you Nelly. I used to like Nelly, but then he went to perform for Donald Trump. I care about women, I care about Hispanics. … You sold out. I used to think you were cool. But now you look like a motherf*cking fool”.

Monae was joined by Anderson .Paak, the co-owner of the bar the party was hosted at, in this impromptu performance. He chimed in as well with “Nelly done sold out” over the chorus.

The St. Louis rapper faced a lot of backlash after it was announced he’d be performing at Trump’s Liberty Inaugural Ball.

In an interview with Houston rapper and former Geto Boys member Willie D Live, Nelly defended his decision by stating:

“I thought you was riding with me because I put on for my city and I try to bring my city up every step of the way. I did not know you was riding with me because you thought I would ride with who you voted for. I didn’t know that. I didn’t know I had to agree with your political choices, and I thought it was the things that you do not the things that you say should be done. If you follow what I do, this shouldn’t even be an argument. He’s the president. He won. This isn’t a campaign, this isn’t an RNC. I’m not out on a political campaign”.
