“It’s Not OK To Support Abusers”: Rihanna Braves Backlash For Including Johnny Depp in Savage x Fenty Show

Rihanna may have spent most of the week enjoying the sight of her Twitter mentions going up to celebrate the release of ‘Lift Me Up,’ her long-awaited comeback single and contribution to the ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ soundtrackbut her.

But, the latter half of the week is seeing her name pushed to even higher heights on the platform for less-than-celebratory reasons – namely association with Academy Award-nominated actor Johnny Depp.

Details inside.

Ahead of the November 9 premiere of Rih’s forthcoming ‘Savage x Fenty Show Vol. 4’ on Prime Video, ‘Entertainment Weekly’ and TMZ confirmed Depp will be among the star-studded list of celebrity faces seen gracing the event.

Highlighted by performances from Anitta, Burna Boy, Don Toliver, and Maxwell, Johnny’s special appearance – reportedly the first full highlight Savage x Fenty segment given to a man – joins other high-profile stars strutting their stuff at the show like Damson Idris, Marsai Martin, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Simu Liu, Taraji P. Henson, Winston Duke, and many more.

Some Rihanna fans took umbrage with the Depp announcement given the actor’s history of domestic abuse accusations by ex-girlfriend Amber Heard, a relationship they found puzzling given the singer’s reported experience with the topic herself.
