Internet personality Funky Dineva had Twitter in a funk after taking to the popular Fox Soul talk show ‘TGIF’ to discuss the rumored pregnancy of singer Halle Bailey, which turned into a verbal smackdown of her older sister Chloe Bailey.
During the heated discussion, Dineva said:
“I don’t like her. Chloe Bailey is so g-ddamn lame.
I’m probably going to catch a lot of backlash for this, but without that makeup she ain’t cute. She should’ve never showed up on that camera with that fat a** face without no makeup. She ain’t cute, [she’s] not believable, so g-ddamn inauthentic – that’s why your sh*t ain’t selling,”
Needless to say, the commentary set off a firestorm of clapbacks in defense of the ‘Have Mercy’ hitmaker. So much so, that it led the 40-year-old gossip blogger (born Quentin Latham) to issue a formal apology at the start of the talkshow’s latest episode.
Hear what he had to say below…
“I 100% stand ten toes down on the fact that I think Chloe Bailey is inauthentic when it comes to her as an artist. I think the sexual image she gives is unbelievable. I think that, in her defending her sister, the whole clapping back thing. I think it was inauthentic.
But I also recognize that that is where my commentary should have started and stopped. I don’t have my head too far up my own a** or so far in my own ego that I can’t recognize the fact that I did cross the line when I started talking about her looks. That was below the belt. It was not necessary and it was non-germain to the story at hand. And for that, I do apologize. So, again, I apologize for going below the belt when referencing Chloe Bailey’s looks. They had nothing to do with the story at hand. This was a learning lesson and I hope to move forward and not repeat it.”
