Chatting it up with ‘ET Canada’ resident anchor Morgan Hoffman recently, Parton, like Carey, is also known as the Queen of Christmas in some pockets of the world.  Because of the titling, she was quizzed on if she’d ever collaborate with the ‘We Belong Together‘ belter.

“I love Mariah Carey! She could out-sing me so bad though…or so good,” she said before later continuing, “I would really have trouble keeping up with her vocally because I think she’s spectacular.”

Going on to say, “Never say never” (in regards to the potential duet), the quote comes weeks after the divas made headlines for a cute holiday exchange over who is the real Queen of Christmas.

In a November interview with ‘Better Homes and Gardens,‘ Dolly – hot on the promo trail in support of her holiday-related ventures – was affectionately dubbed “the new Queen of Christmas.”

“Now, don’t you say that! I’m not going to compete with Mariah,” the 76-year-old Country icon said. “I love her. You think of Christmas, you think of Mariah. I’m happy to be second in line to her.”

Once Carey got word of Parton’s sweet comment in ‘BHG,’ she took to Twitter to respond.

As of time reported, Mimi hasn’t responded to Dolly’s take on the potential of a Christmas collaboration, however.
