Defenses are frequently put in a difficult situation by the Baltimore Ravens. Derrick Henry is the league’s top running back in terms of both rushing yards and rushing TDs. In yards per rush, he comes in second. Lamar Jackson, his teammate, is the only man he lags behind in that category.
Baltimore is scoring the second-most points per game (30.4) in the NFL thanks to Jackson and Henry. When the Los Angeles Chargers play them on Monday Night Football in Week 12, it will be the most difficult matchup they have seen this season.
Speaking to reporters prior to the game, safety Derwin James emphasized that in order for the opposition to successfully stop the Ravens’ explosive combo, the entire defense must work together.
“You need every man. It’s no 10-on-11, it’s you need all 11-on-11 at all times. [Lamar] can create plays, extend plays. We just gotta be there to take that away from them.”
In terms of throwing touchdowns and yards, quarterback Lamar Jackson ranks second in the NFL. In terms of passer rating and touchdown percentage, he leads.
In 2024, the Los Angeles defense gave up the fewest points per game (14.5), ranking first in the NFL. This season, only the Cincinnati Bengals have scored more than 20 points against the Chargers.
One of the most fierce schemes in the NFL’s whole schedule will be the one between Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter and Baltimore offensive coordinator Todd Monken.
