Denton Loudermill Jr, the man who was wrongfully accused of being the shooter at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl Parade, has sadly passed away. I know it’s sad, but we want to give him the recognition he deserves.
Even though Denton was innocent, the damage had already been done. He had to endure all the public scrutiny and backlash, and it took a toll on him. We can’t even imagine what he went through.
Multiple people identified Denton Loudermill Jr. of Olathe, Kansas, as the perpetrator, although he had nothing to do with the crime.
A photo of Loudermill sitting on the ground with his hands at his back and surrounded by police went viral online, leading many to believe he was involved. However, the authorities confirmed that he was not a suspect a few days later.
With just over a year gone, Loudermill has reportedly passed away. According to his lawyer, his body was found on Friday morning.
A cause of death has not been disclosed.
Despite the authorities noting that the Olathe resident wasn’t facing any charges, his photo continued to spread, while local lawmakers, as well as Tennessee congressman Tim Burchett, are said to have made claims of him being the shooter and an illegal immigrant.
He filed several lawsuits, stating he received death threats and suffered mental distress and anxiety.
Let’s take a moment to remember Denton and the strength he showed in the face of adversity. And let’s also learn from this and strive to be more careful and responsible with our words and actions, so that we don’t contribute to someone else’s suffering. Rest in peace, Denton!
