It was reported that Deion Sanders had a conversation with Jerry Jones on Monday regarding the Dallas Cowboys’ head coaching position.
After the news broke, the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes quickly addressed the conversation. Deion Sanders told ESPN on Monday night:
“To hear from Jerry Jones is truly delightful, and it’s intriguing,” . “I love Jerry and believe in Jerry. After you hang up, and process it, and think about it, it’s intriguing. But I love Boulder and everything there is about our team, the coaches, our student body and the community.”

That seems like a diplomatic way of saying “yes,” “no,” and “maybe.”
Views on Deion Sanders from fans
Opinions on social media on Sanders’ potential return to Dallas, where he was once a standout Pro Bowl cornerback, rapidly exploded. Jerry Jones’ consideration of Sanders for the role was met with suspicion from many fans. Some of the comments were:
“That would be the final nail in the coffin for the Cowboys,”
“Jerry’s ego is going to do this, and it’s going to be another terrible decision.”
“If Jerry hires Sanders, I’m off my team’s bandwagon and will return once Jerry Jones no longer owns the team,”
Not all responses, though, were unfavorable. Some fans expressed their enthusiasm over the prospect of Sanders being the Cowboys’ head coach. “Bring Deion home!” and “That would actually be a pretty good hire” were among the comments that demonstrated the fervor of some supporters.
Deion Sanders has made it clear that he would rather remain a college coach despite the attention. He did, however, recently imply that, under one scenario, he might think about playing in the NFL. Sanders disclosed that while both of his boys, Shedeur and Shilo, are eligible for the 2025 NFL Draft, he would only consider the possibility if they were on the squad.
