Billboard 200: Jennifer Lopez’s ‘This Is Me…Now’ Predicted to Miss the Top 20 Despite Being the Week’s Top-Selling Album

Jennifer Lopez mounted a massive campaign in promotion of the February 16-releasedThis Is Me…Now‘  – her first LP since 2014’s ‘A.K.A.’

Buoyed by the lead single, the Latto-assisted ‘Can’t Get Enough,’ as well as its title track and follow-up ‘Rebound,’ ‘Now’ – the conceptual follow-up to 2002’s ‘This Is Me…Then‘ – saw its chart battle armed with the support of a Prime Video musical film of the same name that aided many of its tracks with music videos.

And while the ‘Now’ singles failed to impact the Hot 100 ahead of their parent project’s arrival to digital shelves, that didn’t stop buzz around the set as it quickly soared to the top of real-time sales outlets around the world shortly after its release.

Look inside to see how that out-of-the-box success is predicted to translate to chart placement.

Jennifer Lopez’s ‘This Is Me…Now’

Predicted First-Week Sales (SPS):  21,000 units

Predicted First-Week Sales (Pure): 16,000 units

Predicted Billboard 200 Debut:  #28

According to HDD, Lopez’s ‘This Is Me…Now’ finished its inaugural tracking period with 16,000 units sold – the most of any album this week.

And while the multi-hyphenate diva will likely land atop Billboard’s refreshed Album Sales chart next week, her total sum (SPS) of 21,000 – which includes a modest streaming figure of approximately 5,000 – is predicted to see her printed between #25-#30 on the Billboard 200.

Should the forecast hold true it will mark the first time J.Lo’s missed the top 20 with a studio album as all of her previous efforts – ‘On the 6‘ (#8), ‘J.Lo‘ (#1), ‘This Is Me…Then’ (#2), ‘Rebirth‘ (#2), ‘Como Ama Una Mujer‘ (#1), ‘Brave‘ (#12), ‘Love?‘ (#5), and ‘A.K.A.’ (#8) – opened within the all-genre chart’s topmost quadrant.

Keep it locked to That Grape Juice for more on this story after the Billboard 200 publishes on Tuesday (February 27).
