Bill Belichick Rejects Tom Brady’s Move To Have Him Coach The Las Vegas Raiders

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Tom Brady, who is a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, has expressed interest in bringing his former coach Bill Belichick to the team. Pelissero reported that Brady and Belichick have discussed the possibility of a reunion.

Pelissero also mentioned that the Raiders are not the only team that has reached out to Belichick regarding a potential return to the NFL. Several other teams have inquired about his availability.

However, it seems that Belichick has no plans to leave his current position as the head coach for the University of North Carolina and it is worth noting that Belichick’s contract with the Tar Heels includes a $10 million buyout if he decides to leave before June 1, 2025.

Pelissero wrote:

“Belichick’s contract at North Carolina includes a $10 million buyout if he leaves prior to June 1, 2025, though it’s not entirely clear whether it would apply if he returns to the NFL in the coming weeks. Either way, it’s a fraction of Belichick’s salary by the end of his Patriots tenure, making it relatively easy to get out of, whether an NFL team or Belichick himself pays the buyout.”

Despite Brady’s desire to see Belichick coaching the Raiders again, it seems that Belichick has no intentions of returning to the NFL at this time. His focus remains on his coaching duties at the University of North Carolina. I guess Bill has moved on and is now happy at UNC.
