Once one of the NFL’s most dynamic wide receivers, Antonio Brown is now making headlines off the field after publicly mocking rookie QB Shedeur Sanders. After Sanders was unexpectedly dropped to the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, the outspoken former Steeler rushed to social media to criticize his seeming humility.
Brown commented on a video of Sanders addressing Cleveland high school student-athletes on X (previously Twitter): “Now he sucking d**k… where the cockiness?”
In the video, which was initially published by reporter Daniel Oyefusi, Sanders interacts with local youngsters during his first week with the Browns.
Antonio Brown’s Shedeur Sanders troll doesn’t go well with fans
As the son of NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, Sanders had high hopes going into the draft. He was publicly positioned as a top-five pick by his father, who even threatened to make a “Eli Manning” maneuver if a team that didn’t want him tried to draft him. However, reality struck differently. The Cleveland Browns selected Sanders 144th overall, much beyond the first-round discussion.
His choice to skip the NFL Combine, poor team interviews, and on-field criticisms like his lack of athleticism and slow decision-making were among the many warning signs that NFL scouts pointed out. It seems that many teams weren’t convinced that he was ready for the professional level, despite his collegiate fanfare.
